Kindermusik International has more than 4000 licensed Kindermusik educators working with children
all over the world. This program was inspired by the philosophy that introducing a child to a
musically rich environment from the first days of life stimulates the total human development.
This philosophy is strongly supported by the very latest in brain research and child development
studies. Kindermusik is a child-centered, family involving, developmentally appropriate program
with an eclectic style: the best of Kodaly, Orff, Suzuki, Dalcroze & Montesorri all wrapped up into
one approach. The Kindermusik program does not push the child to perform, but allows the child to
experience the joy of music while preparing that child for successful future instrument study.
Parental involvement is a large part of what makes Kindermusik a successful and exciting
experience for all involved. Early musical training nurtures a child’s cognitive, language,
physical, social and emotional development. New research is coming out at rapid fire pace to
reveal to educators and parents alike the incredible power that early music experiences has on the
development of the whole child--and Kindermusik is on the cutting edge of the early childhood
musical arts training.

The LAMB School will offer
Kindermusik instruction in the following three courses. Students are placed in classes based on
their chronological age and overall development.

Village
Birth to 18 months
|
Kindermusik Village, for children newborn to 18 months of age, incorporates the most current
research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and
connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. High-quality, professionally
created class and At Home materials include Kindermusik Foundations of Learning insights based
on current research that educate parents about their babies’ unique development.
Kindermusik Village will meet for eight classes the weeks of September 30 through November 21. A
parent or caregiver attends the entire 45 minute class with baby. The purchase of a set of home
materials (home CD, Baby's literature book, Baby's Home Journal-with weekly home activity cards,
song cards, and helpful parent information) is required.

Kindermusik - Our
Time
18 months to 3 plus
years old
|
Kindermusik Our Time is designed for children 18 months to 3 years of age. Along with an accompanying
parent or caregiver, children meet weekly for a 45-minute class and enjoy singing, moving, listening,
interacting socially, and playing simple instruments. Exploration Time encourages a child’ s discovery
of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements; language skills are fostered with
singing, sound imitation and vocal play; Music & Movement Story Time encourages emergent literacy
skills; and creative dancing affirms a child’s urge to move.
This curriculum encourages the development of pitch, rhythm and listening skills; provides an
incredibly satisfying repertoire of songs, chants and movement; offers a special one on one time
for parents and child; fosters a love for sharing music with the family that forms a lifetime love
and appreciation for music; and educates both child and parent. A parent/caregiver attends the
entire 45 minute lesson. The home materials features 2 CDs, 2 literature books with colorful
watercolor illustrations, a home activity book, a wooden instrument, all nestled inside a high
quality deep purple insulated lunch bag.

Kindermusik -
Imagine That
3+ through those
children who will be entering
kindergarten in the fall of 2003

Imagine That , for ages 3 1?2 through those children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2003,
is designed for that crucial developmental period when a child moves from receptive to expressive
learning. Fascinating musical exploration helps children engage in the classroom without a parent
or caregiver present the entire time. Parents are invited to participate in the last 10 minutes
of the 45-minute class. Imagine That encourages socialization, sharing, and participating in group
activities while providing creative musical games and manipulatives to encourage each child’ s
unique interests, imaginative play and language development.
This newly developed curriculum from Kindermusik is incredible. Combining a remarkable blend of
music, singing, movement, literature, and pretend play, this unit is sure to create an inspiring
classroom experience. Your child will play an active and expressive role during every class, by
reflecting, comparing, making choices, expressing opinions, solving problems, singing, acting, and
creatively moving. Caregiver attends the last ten minutes of the class. The fabulous home materials
include two home CDs, two enchanting original movement and music books, an interactive Play Set, a
Family Activity Book, ankle bells, and a rains haker with scraper.
