Creative Dramatics I
Specifically designed for 2nd and 3rd Graders
         This is a process not performance based theatre experience and stresses sequential study as the students learn to observe, relate, and recreate the world around and in them. It teaches interpersonal skills, problem solving, creative thinking, while instilling self-discipline and comfort with one's body and voice. Creative dramatics students exhibit freer use of their imagination and are more self-assured, and more willing to express themselves.

Creative Dramatics II
Specifically designed for 4th and 5th grades
         This course will highlight observational skills and the child's ability to relate what is being observed to a practical purpose. CD II is readying the child for beginning acting. Teaching interpersonal skills, problem solving, creative thinking, while instilling self-discipline and comfort with one's body and voice, CD II students are noted for being more confident in their self expression.

Beginning Acting: Middle School
Grades 6th, 7th, 8th
         This class will provide an excellent opportunity for the middle school student to explore the world of acting. Students will work with their voice and body in projecting character. Beginning Acting is a wonderfully fun way to work on self esteem, observation and communication techniques, and interpersonal, problem solving, & creative thinking skills. Students will have the opportunity to audition and perform in the "Pick Up the Pride" theatre troupe which will be traveling to area schools this year

60 minutes once a week,

Beginning Acting: High School
Grades 9th,10th,11th,12th
         This class will be improvisational based and will allow the high school student a chance to explore the exciting world of acting. Students will have the opportunity to work on their voice and body when developing a character. Have fun learning more about yourself and develop some great skills. Students will have the opportunity to audition and perform in the "Pick Up the Pride" theatre troupe which will be traveling to area schools this year

Advanced Theatre Course Offerings
for Young People

ATA Program
(Academy of Theatrical Arts)
         A specialized course of study for 8th grade through high school students. Admission by audition. To qualify, students must display a dedicated interest in the Theatre Arts, have two years of previous theatre training and be at least 13 years old. Students will have the opportunity to be involved in the Pick Up the Pride theatre troupes which will be visiting elementary schools in the area during this school year.
ATA Program

Young Actors Studio
         For high school and young adults preparing to audition for conservatory or college theatre training and for those who may be auditioning for professional theatre companies, this is a basically one on one or very small group working on specific pieces. Please allow yourself enough time to properly prepare your audition piece. Nothing of much significance can be done without the benefit of time. Call for details.

ADULT Movement and Dance
for the Theatre

High School and Adults
         This is the class our LAMB adults will love!!! Under the creative guidance of Kathy Banta, we will explore the challenge-and fun of musical theatre dance and movement. Students will learn some theatre dance basics while creating dance numbers that will be shared with family and friends. This class will offer the trained and untrained dancer a chance to examine the various styles they may encounter in future productions.

Class Voice for Adults
         Establishing vocal production with a solid understanding of how the vocal instrument works will be the essence of this class. Exploring range, volume, breath control, and style will be some of the aspects covered in this class. The students enrolled in this class will meet for 15 weeks for 30 minutes as a class plus these students will also be entitled to two half hour private lessons to be scheduled during the first semester.

Adult Actors Workshop
         This class was developed to give the adult actor additional skills and to build on past acting experiences. It's a way to continue to study and hone your craft whether you are a beginner or a veteran It is important to continue learning, growing and discovering through classes in order for the actor to stay on top of his game. Class work will include exercises in exploring your mind and body, in addition to monologue, scene work and more.
