EducationaL OpportunitieS
...Because there is no bigger stage
than life itself!

Now starting our fourth year as a school, we are beginning to enjoy many fruits of our labor in the form of wonderful growth and confidence demonstrated by our students. We have seen firsthand and heard secondhand how the Arts are enhancing-and in some cases, changing the lives of the students we have passing through our doors. The Arts are an extremely powerful educational tool and we are delighted with reports of children improving in their comprehension, achievement, and joy of learning in their day to day classrooms. We are also excited in seeing students who "aren't supposed to achieve", do just the opposite and progress in ways their teachers and parents hadn't believed possible. However, the biggest satisfaction comes in watching all our students grow inconfidence in themselves and in their creative and analytical reasoning skills. The Arts are a discipline, but a discipline with tangible rewards. The frustrations along the way end up being a small sacrifice when the progress is so evident. Who thrives in an Arts rich environment? Students with learning challenges through students who desperately need Something Challenging in their educational life blossom in such an Arts setting. Everyone can benefit from an educational environment steeped in the Arts. For those not familiar with The LAMB School, our philosophy is process-not product based Arts education. Various stages of product will, of course, be apparent along the way; however, by learning the process the student will then be challenged to adapt that process to new situations. We are not into teaching "survival" which is the result of a product based Arts experience. In a product based Arts experience, a bag of tricks--not skills--are learned through necessity. These "tricks" are difficult, if not impossible, to unlearn and inhibits true artistic growth. We want our students to learn Arts skills that will continue to grow and flourish throughout their life. We thank all of you who have made The LAMB School so successful and we look forward to meeting new friends.

ARTS EDUCATION FOR KINDERGARTEN
AND FIRST GRADERS:
IMAGINATION CELEBRATION
IMAGINATION CELEBRATION will help every child develop a confident, joyful voice for singing and speaking as well as essential building blocks for a future of learning. Designed for children in kindergarten through first grade, classes meet once a week for 45 minutes.
IMAGINATION CELEBRATION broadens and deepens the child' s introduction to the fulfillment and excitement of musicianship, movement, and theatre. This is an incredible program to ensure success in future arts activities and instrumental study and allows student to learn by doing--through singing, listening, movement and ensemble instrument play. The instrument the children will be studying will be the "precorder", a wonderfully Suzuki designed early recorder perfect for young fingers. Basic musical skills will be taught using this instrument which will be a perfect introduction into an instrumental experienc.
All four Arts disciplines will be involved in the curriculum for IMAGINATION CELEBRATION -theatre, dance, music and visual art. Children will explore the arts while in a way that will totally involve their own creativity and imagination. A wonderful Arts Sampler! New curriculum every semester.
